How much does it cost?
*A wrestling singlet which typically costs $30+ is required for tournaments and will need to be ordered on-line. We’ll do a group order, or you can order one on your own. Red is our team color. Either order a plain red singlet or a “reversible” one with red on one side and blue on the other. The reversible singlet is needed if your son / daughter wrestles freestyle or Greco-Roman in the spring. Singles are NOT needed for the spring practices, but will be needed for FS or GR tournaments if you decide to compete. If you compete in FS/GR you will need a red singlet and a blue singlet or a reversible singlet.
*Wrestling shoes which typically cost $30+ are required and can be purchased from local sporting goods stores or on-line.
*Head gear which typically costs $20+ is mandatory and can be purchased from sporting goods stores or on-line. Please purchase a red or black headgear. Headgear is encouraged but optional for spring practices. It is required for FS or GR tournaments if you decide to compete.
*Tournament fees usually range from $15 - $25 per tournament. Participation at tournaments is encouraged, but optional. We will NOT be going to spring tournaments as a team, you can attend them if you want to.
*Meal and travel expenses vary by tournament location.
How long does the season last?
Where and when does the team practice?
Practices will be on Mon, Tues, and Thurs from 6:30 – 8:00pm for the first four weeks (November 3rd through November 25th). Beginning on December 1st through the end of the season we will only practice on Tues and Thurs. Spring practices are currently being held on Thursdays from 6:00 - 8:00pm.
The team practices in Pflugerville High School’s wrestling room. The wrestling room is located in the metal building behind the high school nearest the main gymnasium and football field. Click here for directions.
It’s OK if you can’t start on November 3rd or if you can’t attend all practices per week - come when you can. Like all sports, the more you practice the better you’ll become, but you decide on which practices to attend.
How do I join?
We’ll have a registration meeting and short workout on Monday, November 3rd at 6:30pm in the PHS wrestling room. If you miss the meeting, give us a call or stop by practice. Come by practice on Mondays or contact Coach Brian to join us for spring practices. Please bring the paperwork described below with you.
In order to compete, and practice with the club, ALL wrestlers need:
